Change, transformation, overcoming struggles (personally and professionally), and experiencing personal fulfillment have been key to shaping Steve Sanders’s life. He has learned that fulfillment actually results from the struggles we encounter and which we work to overcome. Fulfillment then translates to becoming the best version of ourselves while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others through the choices that we make. This process is a life-long journey and periodically involves moving outside of our comfort zone.
Steve received a BS in mathematics from Stanford University and an MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA. Over his forty-year career in communications, management and marketing, he has worked at numerous start-up and small businesses and multinational corporations. He has guided members of senior executive teams to forge closer connections with employees and managers globally while connecting employees more intimately with the company’s business strategy. Additionally, he has helped their people managers to mitigate performance and morale impacts associated with people movement and downsizings during major business transitions.
As a volunteer, Steve provides strategic communications input for one of the largest K – 8 sports and camp nonprofits in the U.S., a faith-based organization. He is an ordained deacon with the Presbyterian Church USA and served as chair of the Pastor Nominating Committee in discerning the call for a new pastor. He has also survived two life-threatening auto accidents. Steve has celebrated 29 years of marriage and has two adult children. He enjoys time with family, friends, travel, fitness and reading and lives in Beaverton, Oregon.
